I have worked as a Creative Director for 10 years in one of the most competitive hospitality markets in the world. We had to compete with large restaurant groups, with even larger marketing & PR budgets, and we did this by using the resources at our disposal - our front of house staff and our guests.
We simply encouraged communication - giving our staff the confidence to field questions about our products and services, while encouraging guests to ask questions in a safe and hospitable environment. By doing this and by respecting the feedback and opinions of others, we were able to keep moving forward, keep up with trends, and even occasionally create them.
